Reflection

For this book, I had wanted to create something fun after the shittiest semester of my life. When thinking about working with colour, I decided to use as much as possible. I jotted down an order of colours that goes beyond the rainbow gradient. I decided on an order that I thought would create contrast between each page. I used a variety of marks and techniques to create the colour on each page as well as old and new paper scraps.

For the binding, I used the coptic stitch method. I wish I had planned ahead of time and attached a hardcover before binding as once I used the coptic method, I wasn't able to attach a hardcover and spine and still be able to open it. Eventually, for times sake, I decided to attach two pieces of cardstock to the front and back to cover the marker that had bled through. This also allowed me a space to put my colophon.
